Streameye was initially created to be able to provide Betfair with a really quick way to display their live odds. It started as a very simple solution in 2007 and turned into a service with hundreds of different banner templates. Streameye today feeds banners displaying live odds on many different sports, RSS feeds, Betfair Value feeds, Playtech Jackpots, dynamic banners where you can change the number of screens and texts, calculator banners, HTML5 banners and widgets any many more. The screenshot above displays the initial screen of Streameye where the user can choose which template to use to create his/ her banners.
It is important to note that Streameye is not a banner creation tool. No online creation tool can compete with the diversity, complexity and flexibility of offline banner or widget creation tools such as Flash or the newly highly acclaimed HTML5 tech. Streameye is banner management tool and it is one of a kind.
Streameye was utilised to manage the content of the Betfair's Arcade Jackpot banners. Team Chromeye designed and animated the banner animations for the games that are offered by Betfair and that had Playtech feed available for them. These were then uploaded in Streameye as assets. Playtech feed was integrated into Streameye and Betfair marketing were able to choose which games to display into a banner. They also had the ability to enter promotion specific text, while the jackpot was automatically loaded and updated by Streameye. Banners were then localised in all of the locales offered by Betfair at that time.
Match of the Day banners by Chromeye and Streameye teams are may be one of the most sophisticated banners produced for Betfair. Streameye was closely integrated with Betfair API in order to provide an unprecedented automation of the feeds. An entire league could be scheduled to be displayed when odds are available for upcoming games. Multiple filters can then be applied to select specific markets, specific teams, maximum number of markets / league, priorities to display some leagues before other. Games could also be filtered by minimum amount of bets and sorted with different sorting algorithms (soonest first, most liquid first, soonest then most liquid or vice versa). Combined with the other filters above this allows for as flexible selection of games as you could get. A short description of the banners created by team Chromeye is available here.
This is a screenshot of the preview screen produced by Streameye where the customer is able to verify how the data is displayed in the banners before publishing them online through a distribution system or a media agency. Streameye exports the banners as HTML iFrames which is used to encapsulate the banners from the rest of the site where they will be displayed. The iFrame can load either HTML5 or Flash banners from Streameye populated with the customer's content.
